Safer Internet Day is a global event held annually to promote the safe and responsible use of digital technologies, for children and young people. Schools are invited to register for two free webinar sessions being run by the Department, in partnership with the eSafety Commission, as part of Safer Internet Day.

The webinars, for students in Years 4, 5, 6 and 7, will be held on Tuesday 9 February 2016, from 10.00am – 10.40am, and from 1.45pm – 2.45pm.

The sessions will take place via the Department’s Adobe Connect site.

Participating students will be immersed into the hype and excitement of Cherrybrook Primary School’s inaugural talent competition where they will help aspiring performers to make wise and respectful choices on social media.

The webinars will assist students to understand the possible consequences of posting images, how to communicate online respectfully and how to report inappropriate material.
